Dr. Winsome Stephenson is a Nurse Educator, Nursing Consultant, Author, and Speaker who has extensive experience in higher education. Her professional expertise includes nursing test item development and evaluation, implementation of strategies for nursing school success, NCLEX student success, transformative teaching and learning strategies in the classroom, curriculum content development and evaluation, nursing learning resource review, and faculty mentorship and development. Past professional roles include Associate Professor, Faculty Chair, Dean of Academic Affairs, Curriculum and Instruction developer, Faculty Development Specialist, and nursing consultant. Dr. Student has taught students in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs both online and onsite.

Dr. Stephenson understands the strategies that students need to employ to achieve success in nursing school. She is passionate about nursing education and is fully vested in ensuring that nurses are adequately prepared to use critical thinking and clinical judgment to provide quality patient care on all healthcare levels. She has spoken both nationally and internationally on various aspects of nursing education and practice, with her most recent presentation being at the University of the West Indies, School of Nursing, Jamaica, W.I.

Although Dr. Stephenson is proud of her educational achievements and work in higher education, she is most proud of her role as a Child of God. She has been a devout Christian for many years and has a passion for teaching others about Christ and helping them to realize their potential in Him. Dr. Stephenson shares her faith and God’s word in women’s ministries and takes pleasure in presenting Christ to others.

To be true to her professional/educational and spiritual/Christian roles, Dr. Stephenson writes both Christian as well as nursing professional books.

Dr. Stephenson believes in paying it forward and giving back to the community. She has coordinated health ministries and health fairs in her community and served as a community member on two local hospital institutional review boards (IRB). She has participated in a mentor program for students in the high school that she attended. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, writing, singing, traveling, and just spending time with her family and close friends.
